Nothing connects a pyramid and prism. Read what a pyramid is and read what a prism is. There is nothing to be confused unless you are lazy and want others to read for you

A prism is where if you cut through the shape, you would get the same shape the whole way along, like a toblerone shape or a cuboid. Both ends are the same shape. a pyramid is where you have a base (the base needs to be a regular polygon like a square or a triangle or a pentagon etc), and all of the side coming of of the base meet at a point. our food is packed in square or rectangular prisms (essentially cubes or cuboids) because then you can have a large surface area on one side for publishing (picture ingredients etc), and it has a large volume with a small amount of material. btw some ppl think that prisms are glass, they are not. the can be any material, for example a tin can made of metal is a circular prism because it is a cirle then it is continued if you see what i mean. thats the best way i can explain it hope it helps :)

In optics, a prism is a device used to refract light, reflect it or break it up (to disperse it) into its constituent spectral colours (colours of the rainbow). The traditional geometrical shape is that of a triangular prism, with a triangular base and rectangular sides. Some types of optical prisms are not in fact in the shape of geometric prisms.

A pyramid is a polyhedron with one face (known as the "base") a polygon and all the other faces triangles meeting at a common polygon vertex (known as the "apex"). A right pyramid is a pyramid for which the line joining the centroid of the base and the apex is perpendicular to the base. A regular pyramid is a right pyramid whose base is a regular polygon. An n-gonal regular pyramid (denoted by Yn ) having equilateral triangles as sides is possible only for n=3, 4, 5. These correspond to the tetrahedron, square pyramid, and pentagonal pyramid, respectively.

A pyramid is self-dual, corresponding to the fact that a pyramid's skeleton (a wheel graph) is a self-dual graph.

A pyramid has 4 triangular, and 1 square surface. A prism has two triangular surfaces, and 3 rectangular surfaces. 2 of those 3 rectangular surfaces are identical in size. The base could be any sized rectangle.

There is no reason why a pyramid couldn't be bisected.

A prism is a solid with 3 rectangles with their sides in line with one another. So it'll be three sided with two triangular sides. Now fix two triangles for those and you get a prism.
A pyramid is a solid with a square base and four triangles on it constituting for an apex at the top.

A prism has a uniform identical cross section throughout; a pyramid tapers from one end to the other.

Prism can be cut into equal pieces but pyramid cannot cut into equal pieces.
