im on the pill kariva now and have been on it for about 6 months. before that i was on ortho tricyclen for about 7 years. my husband and i have decided to go off the pill after this cycle and try to conceive. i know everyone is different, but just wondering how long it took you to conceive after stopping the pill?

My husband and I waited one month after going of pill to get pregnant, but once we started trying, we got pregnant right away. I was on a progeterone only pill and I know that it does not delay pregnancy. But I read on a Yahoo Health site that for regular birth control pills, half of women get pregnant in 3 to 6 months and most women get pregnant within a year.

I conceived right away. Went off the pill on Father's Day and now we are 11 weeks pregnant! I was also on the pill for about 8 years. Good luck and have fun!

I was on the pill for seven years and I stopped taking it last november because we wanted a planned pg and the dr sugested to stop taking it so that my body would get rid of the hormones and to keep condom as a bc method (because we were planning to conceive next year) . Turns out I got pg on the condom, 6 months after having stopped the pill lol, though a little aerlier than we planned we are very happy anyway.

Ive heard that you are most fertile after taking birth control because the pill is supposed to put your uterus in closer to perfect health. My friend had trouble getting pregnant because she had ovarian cysts, after 2 years on the pill she got pregnant the very first month off of it. Because I have cysts as well that is what Im going to try to do. Good luck!

I think this honestly depends on the woman. I was on the pill for 12 years, no breaks. My husband and I had "the talk" (which amounted to "Do you want to try for a kid?" and his response "Ok") and a week later I was pregnant. Just call me Fertile Myrtle! My mom got pregnant right away with all 3 of us kids too. I think genetics has as much to do with it as anything...and of course, luck. It honestly and truly is a "crap shoot" as it were.

Well, I am super fertile woman and I got pregnant within the month that I stopped using the pill. But every woman is different.

i caught straight away but i had been using condoms for 8 months after the pill for about a year, everyone is different the best thing you can do is dont stress about it and have lots of sex and fun too. goodluckx

After stopping the pill,I didn't have a period at all and got pregnant straight away with my 1st son and with my 2nd son,I had just one period after stopping the pill

You can concieve in the first month. But it is actually healthier for you to wait until after you have at least one normal cycle mabe even two before you start trying to concieve.
