Political Correctness. It is a term coined in the 1980's which is now used to undermine the freedom of speech by forcing people to be afraid to express their opinions for fear of reprisals and censure from the population at large. It started innocently enough, by people claiming that the handicapped should be called "differently-abled" rather than disabled. Now one cannot criticize the crazy or the stupid because it would be offensive, usually to people other than the crazy or stupid ones.
