If we keep our neck stiff and if we move it after some time, we get a crackling noise.What causes it?

There is cartiledge, but also air between your joints. Any time a joint "pops", that is the air slipping out from the joints. It's not dangerous, although it does wear down your joints, if you purposely cause it.
