I would recommend TightVNC, it's fast, easy to use and secure.

Windows XP has a great remote desktop program built in for Free! You just need to open up a 'pinhole' on your firewall and route TCP 3389 to the PC you want to remote into. I believe you can install just the remote desktop app in Windows 2000 as well. So basically you have to have WinXP or Win2K with the app on both sides. There is a decent tutorial on getting this to work below. The firwall is the trickypart, and also, you have to have a password on the user account of the machine you want to log into, blank passwords won't work. Good luck.

If you are on a business tour, and if you have to access a computer in your office or at home, then all the other softwares like VNC, rAdmin, etc.. have a problem if the computer you wish to access is behind a firewall or router.
I found a site www.logmein.com , they provide free online service to solve this. You just need to make sure that the remote computer is connected to the net. Create an account, and site shows you what to do. You can create multiple accounts if you wish to access more than one computer
