I'm currently in legal field, seriously thinking of making career change to congressional lobbyist. But I honestly have no idea, as to the best approach. Does anybody have any serious suggestions?

Being extremely knowledgeable about the legislative process and the power structure in Washington (at any given moment) would be helpful, as would very extensive knowledge about the particular industry you choose to represent. The most effective lobbyists are either retired congressmen/senators/government employees, or industry executives.
