Exactly what is sounds like. If you are part of the beta test program you get to test their new software that is being developed.

It is a way of testing programs before they are released to the general public. Beta programs usually have bugs in them. You report these bugs to Microsoft and they know to fix them.

well as it is called , it is beta, in other words just for testing, like the program "window defender beta", well this program is new that microsoft put it on the internet for people to test it and to notice it's problem that occurs,
if u want my advice, don't install any program that is beta, cuz to me BETA=lots of computer problems

yep the others are right it is microsofts testing program if you can get on it it is great i did it for years and have lots of cool software some of it never made it past the testing but is still usefull.
