you mean birth control, the most common is ortho tri cyclen and yes for the first few months there are effects. some cramping irregular cycles some weight gain but it all goes away bc pills also help with alot more than preventing pregnancy like acne etc

The worst side effect is you can still become pregnant! Also you can still get STD's ( sexually transmitted Deceases)
