Looking for unknown secret spots in Mexico off the tourist beat to retire and surf.

Moon walker is correct, except about the spelling; it is Puerto Escondido. That is where the mexican pipeline is located. Here in Mazatlan, it is nice, there is also a surf camp here as well. It is a city though, half a million people, so definately not off the beaten path.

Go to Porto Escondido A small sea side village way down the west coast of Mexico Has good rating for surfing sometime the Monster Waves they call em. Food good price is good not over crowded air port close. In the state of Oaxaca six hrs. by bus you can be in Oaxaca city nice and cool at night stay for a week go back to beach for more fish sun and sand.
