The factual answer is that the machines are standard but your question gave me the best laugh of the week.

Because you can be blind to some degree, but not too blind to drive a car. Same with deaf people, you may not be able to hear but you can drive. Same with non English speaking Americans, you can drive if you don't speak english and can't obey the basic street signs. Notice a trend?

LOL. Not sure. I've always wondered that myself. Unless maybe someone has driven a blind person to the bank and they still want to do as much for themselves as they can. Kind of a maintaning independence sort of thing.

1. Legal protection.
2. You've heard of far-sightedness and near-sightedness? Well, if you can't look at things up close, but you can see things far away (which is all you need to drive), you could read the braille.

Incase a blind person goes with someone to help. The other person can read them the screen but the blind person can punch in the code with out the helper know what it is. I guess it is for untrusting blind people with ATM cards.

Not absolutely sure, this is an educated guess...ATMs are not necessarily for the driver I have pulled up to one where the passengers side is to the ATM for my daughter. So I'm guessing that is why.

Maybe, just maybe the blind person is being driven my someone with sight and the blind person is sitting in the back seat and they dont want anyone to know their secret code. actually its something to do with the americans with disability act, everything is supposed to be accessable.

So as not to offend.

Ray Charles used to drive. He had someone sit next to him and tell him when to stop, go, turn left or right, etc. How high pressure is that?

Because some idiotic politician somewhere thought it would be a good idea. LOL sadly- I shouldn't laugh-- it's probably true. :(

That's funny. I always wondered that too. I guess for the same reason they sterilize needles for lethal injection! ;)
