Yes.
But what makes our soul 'satisfied' is not alway good for us.
Go read the Bible.

"An eye for an eye, leaves everbody blind!" Ghandi
I don't think that ultimate satisfaction is achieved or attained when we retaliate and seek revenge on our enemies. Perhaps sometimes it is necessary governmentally and militarily however as a person to person type relationship in the society that we live, not at all! Someone cuts you off on the road just forget it and be glad they didn't scratch your paint. I E don't blow anything out of proportion because you have probably cut somebody off before too and they were probably pissed off.
Just got about your life and remember the mistakes you have made on others as they have made them against you FORGIVE but Don' FORGET! Just don't dwell on them either. With a little common sense we can all avoid any reason for retailiation and revenge!

The reason you may want to get even is to restore your pride. It is a common idea that you get a certain amount of satisfaction from the punishment you inflict on the person who has caused your injury.
If you have to hit back, why not do something that will benefit yourself and make your life worthwhile. Imagine what it would feel like to settle your score by showing off your success to the one who has ridiculed, humiliated or deserted you. The pleasure is permanent and the reward you gain surpasses what you have lost.

Short-term satisfaction only. Ultimately it does no good. The only way to get real satisfaction is to resolve your differences and become allies!! Not the usual practice I know, but it is happening in some countries, especially with criminals and their victims.

If by ultimate satisfaction, you mean killing someone, I never did that so I your question is moot to me.
But I have gotten satisfaction in revenge in other ways.

PERSONALLY:
I don't get satisfaction when I get revenge....but i do LOVE it when life throws that person some shitty hands!!! I see them in the future still being the same kind of person and dealing with the consequences of their bad decisions. I LOVE IT!!!! {{{ EVIL LAUGH}}}

Revenge feels good when you get it, but if the way you get the revenge is too extreme it might cause you guilt which puts you back in the same boat

No. But it also depends on the degree of the crime you want them to pay for. But really, no. It will not bring great personal gratification. I know from experience. Plus, it depends on what type of person you are.... How evolved you are.
