Can't understand why people think it is sick. I'll bet you all watched the news clips when the two planes hit the twin towers and then watched as people jumped from the buildings. Its no different in my opinion.

If his familly are comfortable with it, then that's all that matters.

Even though they would be criticised for airing "sensationalized tv" and most people would just watch it for the gory curiosity, I think it might be what he would have wanted. Maybe not all of the video footage, but I'll bet he would have wanted the video to be shown and explained up to the fatal moment. He was so into educating people about the habits of the animals that he would want to show people how the barb works. Imagine if he had been stung slightly or been able to move out of the way. He would have shown the footage over and over and emphasized what could have happened.

I don't think it should be pay to view though. That puts it in a different category that isn't educational anymore.

No. Why would anyone want to watch that? unless a film is made on steve irwins life story then its ok to act it out I guess. But showing the real film is not really appropriate.

I'm sure a lot of people would want to see it and I have to admit I have a morbid sense of curiosity about it. I think whether they do or not should be according to whatever his wishes were and the wishes of his wife and kids. I know this may not make any sense, but as far as the pay per view angle goes, I don't think it should be. I know it's morbid and twisted enough to think about watching it anyway, but the idea of charging people money to watch someone die is wrong on so many levels and twisted in so many ways. Even scarier is thinking about how many people would be willing to pay money to watch the poor guy die in such a horrible way.

I think they just want to show the bits of the programme not his actual death, I doubt they have the rights to show that. They could incorporate it in a tribute thing. I think they'd make a lot of money from getting people to pay for it, but it depends on where the money is going to!

It'll never be shown. The cameraman who shot it hasn't even watched it and the tape is in the hands of the Australian authorities (as with any evidence in a non natural death). Noone has seen it on the net.

The thought of anyone wanting to watch someone die makes me sick. His family and friends must be in great distress at the moment without having his death splashed all over the media.
So no I don't think it should be shown but unfortunately it will and unfortunately millions will watch it.

I think its sick and even if its what he wanted, permission would have to be sought from his family before such a thing was done. It could cause great pain to them otherwise.

The idea of people paying to watch someone die is really sick. Like a totally morbid kind of voyeurism. Whats up with some people?!?

No I wouldn't watch it.

To all those people saying it would be disrespectful to him and his family, you should bear in mind that its his wife thats fighting to get it shown, as i understand it she said that steve understood the risks he was taking and he would want people to see the consequences of what he did for a living. both he and his family always understood that something could happen to him and surely no one knows him better than his wife.

No, this was a terrible tragedy and Steve's family deserves their privacy at this time so they may mourn the lost of a friend, husband and father.
