It doesnt delete the songs when you plug it in. The point of the iTunes is to READ what is on your ipod. If you brought your ipod to my computer it would show me your songs loaded onto your iPod. If then I chose to update your list, it would add only the songs from my computer I chose.

For windows only

1) If Itunes is already installed disk use may need to enabled so you can see the Ipod in my computer. Itunes hides your ipod from windows otherwise.

2) Make sure you can view hidden files. In MY computer go to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders.

3) Windows should see the ipod and your music should be on your ipod in several hidden folders. To be safe I would copy it all to say your desktop.

4) Install Itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and the Ipod updater http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ (if you don't already have it installed)
After that drag the copied folder to Itunes (drag and drop or in Itunes (File>add folder to library)

You may need to authorise your new computer by playing it in the library first.

Plug it in, your songs won't be deleted. If you have your iPod set to "auotmatically" update songs in iTunes to your iPod, then whatever songs you have in iTunes will be on your iPod. I have had the same problem with my iPod Nano, everything worked out fine.

you may might desire to get a Nano, Mini's are not produced anymore, you may basically have the potential to get them used. The Nano served through fact the replace for the Mini, through fact the Mini became discontinued as quickly through fact the Nano became presented.
