learning HTML, and now XHTML, is easy...look at different tutorials online...and one of the best ways is to find a website you like and View Source and see how they put it together...

Hey man, I've done a fair bit of web editing, and used HTML a lot. If you're blogging with something like E-Blogger (Blogspot), you don't need software. You can usually put HTML code straight into the text box and check its worked in the preview. There are loads of useful sites on HTML on the internet - just Google "HTML tutorial" and you should get a few things.
Hope that helps!

HTML is incredibly easy to learn - and as much as I hate these books, HTML For Dummies is a perfect way to start. I have a book called "Top 100 Simplified Tips And Tricks - HTML" which helped me out a lot when I was first learning - retails at £13.95 / $19.99. It gets quite advanced later on but it has a very comfortable learning curve. Check out the website if you so wish - www.wiley.com/compbooks

HTML is easy to learn especially with the amount of free tutorials out there on the web. I would recomend webmonkey.com when your just learning the basics. After that as your experience grows I would recoment investing in Macromedia Suite as this is such handy software. I use that day in day out.

It would be easier to teach yourself the proper coding, than using a WYSIWYG editor, first. Then when you're feeling lazy, use an editor. HTML isn't hard to learn at all. I taught my 10 year old the basics.

There are lots of web programming applications out there that are WYSIWYG - What You See Is What You Get - so you can click and drag text and images and so forth to exactly where you want them to appear. Some examples of easy WYSIWYG options are FrontPage, PageBuilder (with Yahoo Geocities), or Dreamweaver.
