In early pregnancy (7 weeks) have any of you experienced what i can only describe as your tummy being pulled in - just like when you breathe in accept you are not actually breathing in at the time? Sometimes its a quick in out then other times its slightly longer. (its not painful)

It would only be the size of a pea at the moment so can you still get muscle contractions this early on?

It is probably your muscles stretching to make way for what's about to happen to your body in the next 7 months or so. Even early on your uterus is still bigger than it's normal size and your muscles will stretch to accomidate. I do know also that your uterus DOES contract all throughout pregnancy but I'm not sure that is what you'd be feeling this early on. I've had pulling sensations early on with all my pregnancies. My OB assured me that if I am not cramping or bleeding that all is well. I hope this helped you some.

I am a male.
I know this symptom as mentioned by you is normal in early pregnancy. Now you are going to have symptoms of morning sickness. You will get nauseating and may be vommiting sensation when you get out of your bed in the morning. This will be upto first trimester (First 3 months). You may not like to eat certain items.- again its upto 3 months. This stage you need lot of proteins. More proteins means that your child will be brainy.
I will also suggest you to read books on pregnancy or go to some websites if it is first pregnancy of yours and most important is keep in touch with your gynaecologist.
May GOD bless you.

That doesn't sound like anything that I've experienced during any of my pregnancies. But that doesn't mean it isn't normal for you.

My suggestionn would be to call your ob/gyn's office and ask to speak to the office nurse or even the Dr and ask your question. Don't worry about sounding silly to them. They get all kinds of questions all the time, and the only way to understand is to ask questions.'

Sometimes that can happen because of the shifting of the uterus
and the moving of things in your body to make room for the baby. Also it can be gas, that happens alot. I would call your docter just to be safe

experienced the same. Asked the doctor about it but he did not look or sound concerned. He just said a pregnant woman is mysterious.

Your body will go through all kinds of changes during your pregnancy. It may be normal for you. If you're really concerned about it, you can call your Obstetrician.

Call your OB GYN and talk to the nurse or call the hospital and talk to a nurse either in L&D or an advice nurse oncall.

Yes...It's normal....dont even bother asking your doctor (if they are male or female who have not had experience in giving birth before) or your midwife who only give you advice based on the theory they learnt.....

Trust your own instinct...
