Experience:isn't the right word ,but, a the perfect costume, dress, outfit, or uniform can make a performance or the actual DANCER look even better.
Wearing things that accentuate certain parts of the body can make certain movements look mesmerizing and sexy.--think about a sexy dancer with a hott body thier muscular toned legs or six pack just showing......doesn't that sound gooooddddd????(lol)
It can also help hide imperfections on the body that need to be worked on.They can help provide an illusion to the naked/audience eye, esp. when the dancers are on a stage moving under lights.---Just think if the outfit is too big and just falling off the dancer and showing a fat stomach or even a butt crack!!!(that's indecent exposure)
Last but not least, the right outfit will fit the mood of the dance and can intensify everything if it flows with the dynamics of the music and lights.

For competitions, it is important that my dance clothes is noticeable and eye-catching and presents me as a dancer in a most advatageous way. This one is pretty obvious.

For practice, good outfit puts me in the right mood. I feel professional so to speak. Not to mention that dance outfit affects my performance by simply making me more comfortable or less comfortable. Also, I need to see in the mirror if I'm producing good lines. It's a positive feedback loop: when you feel good and when you know you look good you dance even better, then you look and feel even better and so on.

Dressing up puts me in my dancing character. It gets me ready to perform. And us ladies always look sexier when we're dressed up!

for me i know that sometimes my mood depends on what i'm wearing, if i like what i;m wearing and feel hot then i act mor outgoing and have a good time. when i'm wearing something i don't really like i feel kinda embaressed around people. but for like actual dance the costume u wear really can reflect your dancing because if yr at a competetion u get judged on it, and if u don't like yr costume than u don't like yr dance and will not put as much effort in2 it

it depends on what type of dance you are doing for example if you were doing the tango you want something lose(around the legs). if you are doing a hip hop dance you would want something comfortable

well of course if the outfit or dress is Hot, then it makes you feel hot and sexy. therefore your mood comes out on the dance floor. your riskier, you look sexier, and if you have on stilettos, your calves will look great!!!!
