he does not have a car or license because Mr Judge felt he is a bad driver and Mr Judge may not always be right but he does always have the final word,,,as my son surely found out, hmm, yeah ( ^_^ )

Love your new name! :) I think you should let him walk and tell him the story that so many of us heard from our parents and grandparents when we were younger, about how they had to walk miles and miles in the snow, with worn-out shoes, uphill to get to school! lol

that's too far, maybe take him all but a mile, but, what's a 20yr old need his parent to take him to school, no car? You mean college right?

8 miles is a long way is there no bus he can take if not i would at least give him a ride part way
