I freely admit to being a bit of a snob as far as spelling and grammar. To me, the point of writing is to communicate, and our communication is more clear when we take the time to check our spelling and quickly read over what we have written before we submit it. It's a sort of respect toward the people who are taking the time to read what we have written. I know plenty of adults who don't communicate well in a written form, and I know that younger folks have lots of short cuts in communicating, which is fine, because language is always evolving. But if we want to be understood by others, it only makes sense to put a little effort into the process.

I think the main problem is typos. Folks just want to answer the question so fast they don't pay attention to the spelling or the spell check button.
Constructing sentences & questions properly does seem to be a major problem on this site. Apparently kids aren't paying much attention in English classes or else they just don't care that their image here is portrayed in their written word.'
