I watched this film when i was little it goes like this
Set in 30's/40's - a guy owns a horse (a black one). Some arabian dudes steal it - they set fire to the barn its in. The boy stowes away on a waterplane and goes to some arabian country where he tries to find his horse again. I think he ends up finding it but has to race it as well.
Anybody have ANY ideas?

it's not the black stallion or sea biscuit - the film was around around 1990 (that's when i watched it)

This is one of the stories about a horse called "The Black" written by Walter Farley. This was the second story in the serious called "The Black Stallion Returns" and the movie was made in 1983.

Aye, it's The Black Stallion. I believe there was also a sequel - Return of the Black Stallion, or something thereabouts. A ship sinks in one of the films, the first one I think. Not sure what happens in the second one.
