I am a huge fan!!! I was distraught.. My nieces and I had only watched him put on a show the month before,
I agree that there should be no disrespectful remarks , he was a great man, anyone who disagrees is a bitter cold hearted person!!!
Steve Irwin is always going to live on, because he had such a larger then life love for everyone, It breaks my heart to see the replays of his work and him with his children on television.. He will live on in the Hearts and Imaginations of children and adults alike.. God bless your soul steve xx

Yes I am a fan of his and will continue to be just like all of the people who are fans of other past stars. IE "The Three Stooges"

As long as they run his shows he will continuously create new fans way into the future.

I am actually SHOCKED at the way he passed. Out of all the creatures that he has messed with the Stingray is the most docile and harmless one.

It was just his time to go because of the way everything played out.
That barb would have made him sick if it hit any place else but never killed him.
Being that it did get him in the chest and I believe the heart was just unbelievable.

Then they said he pulled the barb out himself. That may have been the biggest mistake right there if it did puncture the heart because of the blood loss.

The whole thing is just so sad.

I am very deeply saddened, and yes I was a huge fan from the very beginning. He always seemed like such a sweet person who genuinely enjoyed what he did and wanted to share his experiences with the world. There are so few educational television programs out there, let alone any that are truely entertaining and informative. Crocodile Hunter managed to be both. More than anything, Steve Irwin shared his enthusiasm for the world around him with everyone and worked to make people want to learn about and enjoy life. That is why his work was so important. He will be missed!!!

I was definitely a fan though at times as I watched him I wondered just how crazy he was to do the things he did...especially when it concerned snakes!

I am deeply saddened by his death and I know that millions of others are as well....but that doesn't come close to the loss that his family is suffering this morning.

My prayers go out for Terri, Bindi and Bob as well as his many friends and other family members.

Crikey!!!
Yeah that has got to be a big bummer. I am a little amazed that with all the stuff he handled over the years that a stingray was the animal who got him. I don't think Steve would have thought ill of the ray, just that the little bloke got a little scared is all. I hope you went to the great crocodile preserve in the sky. RIP

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Yea...it was pretty sad to hear he got screwed over by some over hyped fish...I think he died instantly too.

Too bad for him. He died doing what he loved though...not in the getting poisoned directly into the heart sense...but in the working with animals sense.

Heres to you mate.
