What goes up, must come down. Bad idea.

No because eventually it will come down. In California where i'm from people sometimes do that on the 4th of July. Then later on in the local news you'd hear about someone dying of a stray bullet that came from the sky. The saying "what goes up must come down" is very true, and a very hard lesson can be learned from it.

No. First of all, if you have a gun, it is not a good idea to even have it. No good comes out of having a gun. Second, why would you want to shoot a bullet in the sky? Just think, if you shoot a bullet in the sky it could land on a baby or an elderly person. It can hit anyone. How would you feel if you took someones life just for shooting a bullet in the sky? How would you feel if you maimed or killed someone that is close to you? A bullet has no name, race, creed or color. It is a random killer. Please, please, please think before you act.

Just don't be anywhere around when it comes back down. The law of conservation of energy dictates it will come back down with the same speed, force, etc. as it went up. So in all these scenes on tv where you see rebels celebrating by shooting up in the air, could people in the crowd end up getting "shot"? Yep.

In some Countries it okay. Not in the USA though. Thank God already to many people getting killed by stray bullets.

It will come down about as fast as it goes up, if I remember from physics, so it could do a lot of damage if it hits somebody or their property--you wouldn't want to have to pay for a new windshield if somebody did that to you, would you?

No, dude. Just no. You should always know where you are firing and where your bullets will end up. If not, you'll be in very serious trouble very soon .
