Everyone knows who Einstein was and knows of his famous equation: E=mc^2.
But, what was he actually awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for? Nope, not either Theory of Relativity. He was finally given the Nobel Prize for the Photoeletric Effect [i.e. how some things can change light into energy like solar cells].
