I'm looking for a card that I can fit into a computer without internet access when I'm overseas, so that I can record programs onto the hard disk. These are just ordinary radio stations, like the BBC World Service, which broadcasts from London across thousands of miles. I'm not looking for a 2-way radio.

There are tons of items! Most of which are either interface boards that connect a radio to your computer, their are alos radio cards that will do this but they arent cheap! They can range anywhere from between 500 and 2500 dollars! Your cheapest route tho would be to buy a cheap radio and connect its speaker output to the line in port on your PC. You can then record with the windows recorder.
