When you shampooed the carpet, you most likely had the doors open and the interior lights on. The interior light drew down the battery, and now the truck will not start. Get a jump start or charge the battery and you should start fine!!!
You may want to have the battery checked. Depending on how long you had the doors open, it going dead could be a sign of a battery with bad cells. When winter comes, a bad battery will not start your car!!

Above seem correct. It one of those things that makes it look like the Carpet Cleaning did it, but, it coincidence. Check to see if the Battery Posts are clean and Tight and check the water level in the Battery if you can. Add only Distilled Water to cover plates and to the bottom of the hole not all the way to the top, you will see when you look.

You may have splashed water on the computer under the dash. The only thing you can do is to close the windows and try using a dehumidifier to totally dry it out. The computer is very costly. Definitely not a good thing to do. You may have shorted out a part of it.

Probably not connected, but is there any chance you wet a selenoid? Check the top of the footwells near the firewall for any connections that may have gotten wet. Also, you may have pulled a wire or loosened a connection with the vac.

Unless you got the engine compartment wet there should not be any correlation to the car not starting and shampooing the carpet.

I dont think that the two are connected.
If the battery is good just try and look for a loose battery connection
