Why do Americans fear Iran?

I recently read an article stating that Iran was consdered one of the greatest threats to Americans in todays world. I mean seriously guys come on, what are you scared of Iran?
The United States has far greater military and economic power. Where is any proof that Iran is a direct danger to the U.S.?

"terror, nuclear bomb" This is hardly an answer, its barely a statement. What has 'terror' got to do with Iran? If you go on about funding Hezbollah then ill have to list who the United States funds and funded, and dont be surprised when Osama and Saddam are on that list.
Nuclear weapons? You guys have them, Israel has hundreads and refuses to let the authorites monitor them. Pakistan and India have them. Iran doesnt have them, but it may want them, so what, they are a big country and may feel it is their right. With the major powers of the world continuing to keep these useless weapons why should they not want to be part of the big boys club.

It is all a ploy to "terrorize" gullible Americans. Iran is no more dangerous than a chihuahua barking at a great dane. They may have some uranium, so what, America has tons of it, we have the largest military, the most advance technology and in a heartbeat can demolish a country that tries anything against us. Of course they say their a threat, they are sitting on oil that the US can't use, so they're a threat. They are a country of different ideologies so they're a threat. Do you think we'll bring Democracy to them just like we did to Iraq? Invade without any reason?

It's just more crap from the biased media. The current administration wants Americans scared so they can continue to perpetuate the myth that Iran is a threat to our safety and can continue to take the natural resources of these countries. I don't fear Iran. I fear the Nuclear Missile that Iran can use against our forces in the Middle east. Currently they do not have ICBM status, but that could easily be fixed with a trip to the Russia emporium of Cold War technology warehouse.

Nuclear weapons. If Iran fires at the US then you are screwed because it would throw your whole country into chaos. The only thing you could do is fire a nuke back. The threat from Iran is because they are intent on developing their nukes and they hate the US, you can see where this is going.

if they attack iran, they also has to deal with china and russia. they have all become allies recently. of course CNN is not going to tell you that, because the people will be more afraid. bush know if he messes with iran,. china and russia will be on us. And i dont care strong our military is.. thats way too much for us. and one more thing, they both have nuclear capabilities. so tell Bush not to bite off more than he can chew.

THE USA has been always overcautious or undercautious about its security and has never found out the real threat to its security.....e.g. of overcautious...IRAN, IRAQ, Venezuela...etc. E.g. of Undercautious...Pakistan, Israel.
