I recieved a basket of plants at my fathers funeral, and have no idea what most of them are. I am looking for a book or website that will tell me what they are and how to care for them.

Chances are very good that the plants you received are various species of common houseplants. Here is my favorite website for identifying and caring for houseplants:

http://www.plantoasis.com/

You should be able to find the information you need fairly quickly at this site.

Good luck with your search for information.

Sunset makes a great plant book.. Did the plants come with the plant name? you could just go on line if it does, otherwise, you could take the plants down to your local nursery and they would know everything about them, how to take care of them etc. I'm sorry about your father!

To identify them go to the florists website. Try http://ww4.1800flowers.com/welcome.do if the florist the plants came from does not have a website.

Once you identify them you can search for them by name.

Good Luck!

There are people on the forums at http://www.gardenweb.com that can ID virtually any plants you ask them about. In fact, go directly to the forum site http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/

Good luck!
