Shaving is the only way which has no serious potential side-effects. Waxing, Plucking,Threading and Epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and can make a real mess of your face. Usually facial hair is hormonally-stimulated and in such a case those methods can actually provoke stronger growth. You've also got to let it grow long enough to get a grip of, so you'll have obvious moustache/beard growth before treating it. Electrolysis and laser can both cause scarring and discoloration. Creams and lotions can burn the skin. Best answer is a men's-type electric razor. The models from the Norelco (Philishave outside the US) men's range are probably the best for women -- completely non-irritant and very quiet. Use them only for facial hair, though.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

If you are a lady, do not use, razor like objects, on any part of skin, especially, face. For immediate removal you can use any hair removing lotions. For the long run, daily apply Turmeric paste and leave it on face for minimum, 15 minutes. Then wash it with cold water.
