I am loooking for a REAL excuse that I can use to go home early from work, I am the receptionist.
I am planning to ring from my mobile whilst i am away from my desk and leave an urgent message for me to call back.
What can I say - Serious ones please!

make up a new family member, because firstly you dnt wanna play with fate, secondly you dnt want the one you lie about to randomly walk in one day and give you away! Tell your bosses that your mum has been on the phone and this family member has been taken seriously ill and it doesn't look like things are gonna turn out very well. Your dad is away and you need to go with your mum to be with your family! It sounds a bit wrong but if the family member isnt real then your not tempting fate, or risking anything, plus you can prob wangle a week off paid for compassionate leave!!!! Good luck!!

If you have children say that one of your children is got sick at school and you have to go get them. If not say that you just got a call that your mom or any other relative has been rushed to the hospital and you have to go see if they're ok. If not then just pretend to be sick right now and tell them that you need to go home because you're not feeling well.

A friend of mine tried a lie and then the thing she lied about happended to her!
Why don't you just ask if you can leave early one day and make the time up another day OR if you already work over time alot, record it and then speak up!

Perhaps instead you could excuse yourself repeatedly to go to the bathroom. When someone asks if you are okay, tell them straight out that you have the runs. Noone will question it if you come out and say diarrhea because it embarrasses a lot of people.

Don't say break in , you'd be cursing yourself. Say a relatives unwell or better still fake that you keep being sick and cannot stay at reception as you keep having to get up and go to the toilet.
