A bit of a SPOILER: (so don't read unless you really want to know)

while it is somewhat true what you say, it is not actually the way the story happens. Bilbo does not defeat Smaug but provides the information that makes it possible to defeat him. He tricks Smaug and that can be considered a defeat, in a way, but it is more accurate to claim as I did.

About the treasure, Bilbo was promised 1/14th of the treasure reclaimed (and is due more because of how many of the party is left) but Bilbo takes only as much as he can comfortably carry. The treasure actually reverts back to the Dwarfs of the lonely mountain and surrounding areas. The riches that Bilbo becomes known for in the LotR series is considered to be the treasure found earlier in the book, and one that is more convenient for Bilbo to take.

However, it is not the treasure that is the importance it is what it represents that is the key to the story... read and enjoy.

Yes. Bilbo and his dwarf companions defeat Smorg the dragon and go home with much treasure. Bilbo also returns home with one other treasure, the ring he found and retained in a riddle contest with Gollum.

Smaug is defeated and Bilbo is rewarded handsomely.

However, Bilbo does not defeat Smaug himself nor does he get a significant part of the treasure of Erebor.
You need to read the book.
