I was shocked to hear about it; what a tragedy. My heart goes out to his wife and kids, and all his family.

There is much sadness within for the loss of one who touched the world with the light of his spirit. May his wife and children pick up the torch and carry the light of his beliefs in the wonder of nature to all corners of the world. May he find peace forever, Rest in Peace Steve Irwin.

Yes, Steve was a great animal man. His wife and children will go on and carry his spirit with them. Thank God Steve and his wife had those 2 wonderful children to carry on. We can all pray for the ones left behind.

Yes it is sad. At least he died doing what he loved to do. The saddest part is that his son will never really know him. He seemed like a really nice guy that cared a lot about animals and the environment.

Yes I feel sad as well - the world has lost a great guy who did so much for wildlife and in the end lost his life doing the job that was his life.
I think he will be sadly missed for himself and the work he did.

Terribly so. Steve was... infectious in his enthusiasm. Open, caring, dedicated to his family and his work.... No matter what people thought of his personality or his presentation, he did a phenomenal amount of good work when it comes down to education and conservation. He was the type of guy you'd want to have as a friend. I'll deeply miss him.

Yes, this was tragic. He was great at what he did. I was watching Animal Planet last night and they had on old episodes, and it was really sad listening to him talk about his kids and wife. The poor family...

Its a sad day for his family; and all the kids that grew up watching him. He even at the last minute tried to pull that barb out of his heart. courage.

I am very sad and I feel for his wife and kids they were such a close family you could see how much they lover each other.
