I been on birth control for about two years now, and I stop this summer because I didnt have anymore patches. My cycle works like clockwork but this month I havent seen it. I am 5 days late so far. What should I do? Should I take a home pregnacy test or go to the doctor?

Start with the home pregnancy test. They CAN give you a false negative, but they are very unlikely to give you a false positive. This means, if the home test says you are preggers, you most likely are and need to see your doctor. If it says you're negative, you should probably go see a doctor to make certain. So, either way, do both: take the at home test and make an appointment with your doctor. Good luck! And if applicable, CONGRATS!

--PS: When you end taking any kind of birth control (especially if you were on it for a long period), it could make you a little irregular in your cycle--despite how timely you could predict it before. 5 days isn't really that late even for someone who is never late. It is common for woman coming off of BC to be as late as a week (and sometimes more).

You might as well just go to the doctor. If you take a home test and it comes back positive you will have to go anyway. If you have been taking birth control its a good idea to see the Dr. once every 2 years anyway. Good Luck !

its really early, why not wait a little longer and see. Take a home pregnancy test first. You dont want to go to the doctor after only missing a few days.

I don't really think u should worry about being pregnant unless u had unprotected sex around the time u were ovulating.

A delayed or missed period is not uncommon after coming off any type of birth control.

Yes, first take a home prgnancy test, then see your doctor, he will take it from there depending on the result.
