Find out what city he lives in (if he divorced in that city) alot of places have records online you can see his divorce decree

Ask to see a copy of the final decree. If he doesn't have on to show you, you would have to know the city or county and state that his divorce took place in. Then you could check on line, if they have court records on line, or write to the courthouse and send in the money to have them look it up for you. The advantage of paying the clerks to find it for you, is that your money would also buy you a copy of the document.
You could also try one of the detective searches on line. You have to pay for it, but you could get a complete background on your guy.
