Sorry to disagree, but of the two choices, I'd go for Kaspersky every time. Just look at the charts showing the time-to-release for the updates after a new virus comes out. Symantec (Norton) is always the last. Kaspersky is usually one of the first.

Hi, first of all, I must say that there is no best anti-virus in the world. Each anti-virus program has it flaws and loopholes. Hackers exploit loopholes to plant various virus everyday and there seems to be no end to it.

Back to topic, I've used both Kaspersky and Norton. I must say that Kaspersky uses less resources than Norton does. Norton tend to use much of my cpu load and causing my computer to slowdown at times.

Also, Norton has been targeted by virus writer to test their virus out. Meaning, if their virus can get pass Norton, they are able to release it to the public since they assume Norton has a wider user group or perhaps better security.

While Kaspersky might not have the flaw that Norton has, thus, it is able to block the new viruses.

Currently, Im using Nod32, which is a light weight anti-virus program. I've been using for some time and so far it has managed to alert me of a few viruses. So, you might want to consider.

In my opinion, Kaspersky is way better than Norton. It also updates virus definition more often than Norton does. Its security suite is better than Norton's, although you can configure the firewall a bit easier in Norton.

i never heard of kaspersky but from personal experience and from talking with other IT people norton is not the way to go.
norton is so popular that they have made viruses that get passed nortons protection. i used to use norton until i got a virus. ive been working for this IT firm for almost a year now and we are resellers of a antivirus/antispyware/firewall all in one with tru prevent technology its called panda. www.pandasoftware.com you can check it out here. the titanium version is what i use at home.
good luck

i have used both them programs and neither impressed me ,avast 4.7 is a very good free program and in all the years i have used anti-virus software i have found this by far the best, its easy to download, install and update, all done in 5 minutes
it has 7 real time scanners, and regular updates,i used this one on a system which previously ran norton,it picked up 11 viruses that norton failed to identify

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
