Maybe you should try and talk with him. Let him know that you heard about what happened, ask if he would like to talk about it, and see if you can offer some help. You were only married to the guy before and have a child together. I am sure there are some feelings there. See if you can offer an ear or help him find some help, because you care about him...or at the very least, you two have a child together, and the child doesn't need to grow up without a father.

Get any information you can about the incident and contact the courts. Supervised visitation is in order. Until you get the new order, I would not let him see the children without someone else being present, if at all.

keep yourself and the children away from him go see a family judge and explain this to her so that they may make him get mental health before being able to get the children again if he is suicidal threes a big chance he can be homicidal also.be careful

He need to get into therapy, maybe some antidepressants, and you need to see an attorney regarding the change in his mental status and how these visitation will affect your children.
