While it may seem strange that they haven't helped rid society of poverty, even the richest man in the world can't solve the problem overnight, or by simply throwing money at the problem! Money in underdeveloped countries often lead to corrupt societies. With all due respect to the rich as well - they didn't get to be that way by sharing their money with others so freely.

not everyone is tight, but there is a lack of compassion these days. People are living in a fast paced world of the haves and have nots, and we don't hear about all the people who do good deeds. Only select few. Some remain anonymous and some just do it for the tax write off. Millions starving all over the world and other sufferings are directly related to the government of that country. Not letting aide get in, starving its own people, too dangerous to attempt to help. People not wanting to take the risk of letting go of their money cause they don't want to live in any other lifestyle for which they have been accustomed to. They don't want to eat cup-o-ramen noodles like us regular folk!!

Rich people get that way by being careful with their money, anyone can do it, just save hard for forty years or so (at least in the West).

The reason that people are starving is because there are too many of them.

If the 50 richest people in the world divided all their money between the poor, it would make a difference to them, but only for about a week or so.
You can't "cure" poverty by giving hand outs.

You can prevent poverty by educating people and allowing them to help themselves, and limiting population growth.

Being tight with your funds is only part of it! The most important part is getting others to work for you and you get the benefit of their labor instead of them. This is the most insidious fact about the rich. They deserve none of it. The most diligent, dedicated worker in the world can't accumulate as much wealth as the rich have! Yet they are always the first to claim they did it by hard work and constant devotion to the work ethic! They know no ethics what so ever!

It is not money that solves the problem. Taking time to share of yourself will make starvation go away. All the history of the world is throwing money at problems hoping they will go away, but it has not worked.
So they are all insane cause insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Time to try something new.
Preferable I prefer someone invest in educating me and training me to have a job and be self suffieicent, not just throw money at me.
You also cannot convince people the more they have the better they are, these people truly beleive they are nothing without their money, so feel bad for them, for when they die what has money gotten them?

The rich give an incredible amount of money to charity ,
whether its because they get tax relief on it or not depends on the the individual .

Believe it or not being rich costs a hell of a lot of money and if for example Richard Branson gave away half of his fortune he would very probably find himself in financial dire straits very quickly .

If you pay a law firm 1million a year to invest and capitalise on your 20million then remove 10million and with it the lawyers ability to capitalise on the remaining 10 , you will be paying lawyers directly out of your own net worth while not actually making any money , poverty will follow .

The rule is circulate to accumulate .

Because they have earned it!! Just because they are rich doesn't mean other people have a right to their money. After all, they pay more taxes than poorer people, which is their contribution to society.

If I had to pay 40% tax I think I'd be pretty tight with the money I had left...

Look. Some people work very hard for there money. Spend countless hours studying in school to get a degree in something they know is going to make them money.
That is what governments are for. Leave the rich alone.

I know people who have money & are VERY tight with it, wouldn't give a starving child a piece of bread. But that's why they're rich, because they never let go of any money.
