I think both parties had something to do with that. You can blame it on the Democrats but it wasn't their fault alone.

This isn't even a question. It is an accusation. So, how i it that the Nation has forgotten all of the idiocies undertaken during the Regan administration, the Bush administration (let us not forget Ford and Nixon)?
The truth is that every administration has had its share of screw-ups. Every administration has pardoned people who really desperately deserved to go to jail for their activities.
The total for President Bush so far (in nearly 5 years) is 58. In one term, his father issued 74.
Here's the rest of the list:
Bill Clinton - 396
Ronald Reagan - 393
Jimmy Carter - 534
Gerald Ford - 382
Richard Nixon - 863
Lyndon Johnson - 960
John Kennedy - 472
Dwight Eisenhower - 1110
The grand-daddy of all modern pardon-granters was Harry Truman - 1913
Former president Bush derailed the Iran Contra (done by people under the Regan administration) investigation by pardoning 6 criminals.
Do you remember the Lincoln Savings and Loan scandal?
follow the link below. learn.
Both Republicans and Democrats do the same thing and then complain about the other. If there were a real third party, you'd both be out of business.

Actually, it is both the Republicans and the Democrats fault. Democrat Bill Clinton was offered Bin Lauden by a foreign country and it was in the midst of his sexual trysting with Monica Lewinski (and subsequent hearings because of it) and so he told the foreign country "We do not need Bin Lauden- he is no threat to us, so set him free".
If not for that, September 11, 2001 would not have happened.
But, Bush's agenda is no better-- nor was that of Carter (before the time of many people here). It was the USA under Republican rule that gave Bin Lauden money, and weapons when Bin Lauden was helping to push the Russians out of Afghanistan.
I think that before you place blame on one party, you should actually do your research, to ensure you place the blame where it belongs-- both parties are responsible for the condition of our country.

go back to your republican cronies and tell them that mainstream america is not buying this ploy. nice try. bush got us into this war for no particular reason. we all know it. the price of gas has gone down now that the republicans have begun their campaign, and you think we are fooled by this. gas prices were inflated during this time of war because republicans have holdings in oil. the oil companies have recorded record profits during this time, and only now, when the republicans have begun their campaign, have oil prices, therefore gas prices, lowered. they actually think we bought it all, and want to be voted in again. it's not happening. we paid higher prices at the pumps because it made them richer. the problem with that is that it made us poorer, and made prices rise that will never lower again. you've got your money, be happy with that. buh bye republicans. sorry that we are not as dumb as you thought we were. and by the way, reagan started nafta, and he also said that ketchup was a vegetable. he designated that for our school children it was ok to call ketchup a veggie, and that school lunches did not have to have real veggies, as long as they had ketchup.also, at the same time i was a full time college student with 5 children. i came home from school one day to a letter that said my food stamps for me were cut because i probably ate at school. you can't eat at school unless you pay for it, and i ate very little at home because i gave my food to my children. i stopped eating even more, and had to drop out of college because i couldn't think well after that. but the day i got that letter, i called the white house. i got the switchboard. they wanted to know why i wanted to talk to the president. i told them that i was a property owner and paid taxes, and that if they accepted my tax money, they had to acknowledge my existance, and if they can do that, they know that i must eat to survive. i did not get to talk to the president, and i did not get my foodstamps restored. i work in a gas station now, as i had to quit school. you can't pass tests if you are brain starved and can't think. i have no pension to help in my declining years which are near, i have no medical coverage.i have a very bad taste in my mouth for republicans. they care about big buisiness, because that's what they are. they promote big business, because that's where they make their money. they don't care about the people who worked to make big business what it is today. this country is faltering financially now because they see that they can make more money through cheaper labor overseas, and we are left holding an empty bag.
and, by the way everyone, look at shirazs' questions. they are all geared to make people think that republicans are good, and democratics are bad. wonder if he is within the republican party, or a terrorist who likes things just the way they are. republicans can be controlled by their desire for more money in their pockets.

No, because it's not. Most of our problems come from the simple-minded who blurt out such sweeping nonsense with regard to fact or history.

I think that every problem facing America is when republicans and thier advocates became chauvinists and intolerant .
i do not understand it , do you like it that the USA is now thanks to republicans, under attacks .. if terror is what we are fighting ... THEN HOW COME it DID NOT END TILL NOW . come on get off your high racist horse , and admit that republicans are just about to bite the dust.

Ding! Haylow wins the prize. =) People want to blame the people in power. Well who the hell voted them in there? People who wanted someone with a strong 'moral and christian' background. Well, you got what you wanted. However, this doesn't necessarily help them run a nation well. Iregardless, Dem or Republican, they both are 2 faced and will tell you what you want to hear. I want to see more people in this world actually use their voice instead of being sheeple. We seem to have lost sight in where we want to go and what we want to accomplish AS A WHOLE.

No, we have a Republican in the White House. He is a major problem and most of our problems go back to that bobble head.
