My boys and I are sad, he was a lovely man who adored his family. Having suffered a similar unexpected loss some years ago, I can feel a litle of what Terri is feeling. I hope that she, Bindi and Bob can feel all our love.

I wouldn't wish death on anyone and I think it is so sad that Steve Irwin lost his life at such an early age. I really feel badly for his wife, who was his soul mate, and his two small children. But, if he had to die, at least he died doing what he really loved.

I couldn't believe last night when my boyfriend told me. I have never been a massive fan of Steve's but I have enjoyed what I have seen of him. I liked his cheerful cheesiness and his attitude towards animals and conservation. That daft film he did, "Crocodile Hunter", really brightened up an otherwise dull Sunday afternoon for me.
Someone has said that his family want his last moments to be screened. Is that true? I suppose in a way it is fitting. he certainly led a very full life and enjoyed every minute of it. I feel very badly for his wife and children, but I'm sure all the messages of support they have been receiving must be a small comfort.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Me and the animal world without him and people like david a. there is no education with regards to wildlife and the food chain... that will mean less respect to the animal kingdom...His entusiamsm towards animals was out of this world...God Bless R.I.P....

I am. It was good family television, and his enthusiam for some of the lesser liked animals (snakes, reptiles, etc.) of the world was contagious.
I am sure his wife and children are heartbroken. I hope they and the rest of their crew will continue his work.
