Shocked...no. Saddened, yes.
Dude played with crocs for a living, it was hard to be surprised when he died playing with wild animals.
Terrible tragedy for his family and for his fans though.

I Would Not Say I Was Shocked He Had Died As I Think No Matter How In Control He Was He Was On Borrowed Time Playing Around With Animals Like He Did But I Was Shocked At How He Died Coz I Would have Thought It Would Have Been A Crocodile That Would Have Got Him.

I was shocked because I just never thought it would happen. I wouldn't have been so shocked to hear that he had been injured, or something like that. But killed? I wasn't expecting that. It's a horrible tragedy. I really feel sad about it. I enjoyed watching him. He died doing what he loved though, that's for sure.

Oh boy!...I was 'sting rayed' !! Thats the best how I describe it.
He came so close to death umpteen times with his crikey pals and now its surprising that he died at the Barrier Reef water.Sting rays rarely attack and to see Steve, of all common people who could have died, makes it hard to swallow.

His crocs will surely miss him along with his entire community. But then again, all animals are known to be unpredictable and lethal when it comes to defending their territory right? ,my best bet is that he swam too close for comfort near that Sting ray.He could have shown a little prudence, you see Steve had this unsatiable interest in dangerous creatures, he should have exercised an ounce more of prudence in those dangerous waters.Nature isnt always forgiving to its trespassers.

Surprised by how, but not surprised that he died. His life style of taking risks with wild animals was leading toward a predictable end. Anyone who would see his shows would tend to comment "That guy is crazy"! When you take that many risks on a regular basis you're bound to have a mishap, or as we've seen - far worse.

I was shocked that he died this soon, but not the way he went. I would have been totally shocked if he was murdered by another human being. The man died doing what he love loved so much. His family is in my prayers.

No, I wasn't.....saddened but not surprise....one cannot live on the edge of life forever..........that kind of risk taking eventually catches up. I feel so sorry for his children that they won't get to know him.
