Yes, it is a very sad time and hard to imagine the world without him.
No-one else has such a big heart and compassion for the welfare of animals.
He loved life, loved people, it is hard to imagine him ever having a bad thought.
My heart goes out to his wife Terri and children Bindi and Bob, their grief would be hard to bear.

Steve helped a lot of people to be closer to the animals he loved. He was a true Wildlife Warrior and educator and he will never be forgotten. He loved his family and the animals and he could make the viewers feel his enthusiasm for wildlife over the TV.
My heart goes out to Terri, Bindi, Bob and the rest of his family and his friends

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Yeah, he was the man!
He was the man, who, in spite of having a family, stuck his head into alligator mouths, and wrestled poisonous snakes and took enormous personal risks for a buck.
He is also "the man" who set his 1 year old down within snapping distance of a man eating reptile and walked away. He was seriously reprimanded for so doing.
He was reckless and cavalier with his own well being, and the well being of others. Who didn't see something like this coming?

Yes he was and still " is" the MAN!!
No one is ever going to be able to engage viewers in such a fun way that made you want to watch a documentary on wildlife, he had that larger then life persona, and every one will never forget him.. He is a true legend..
Rest in peace mate xx

He was great, I admire him for his work and his willingness to educate us on animals we don't see often up close. He will be missed.
