Rust has two potential sources. If it's from a leaky faucet and "hard" water, the rust can be removed with CLR, Lime Away, or a product called WINK (hydroflouric acid solution). If the rust is coming from the tub itself, these products will clear it but only for a short time. It will again become evident as soon as oxidation begins to take place. The only solution I know--and one that I have used myself--is to have the bath resurfaced using an acrylic material. It needs to be professionally applied and will cost around $400 for the job. You can have it done in designer colors or basic white. Good luck.

How about CLR? Calcium, lime and rust remover. Works for me and it's easy to find. It's not rust by the way. Enamel tubs don't rust. It's the iron in your water. If the CLR doesn't work, I can't remember the name but there is a product sold in groccery stores for cleaning the same yellowing in dishwashers. It works great, and is found in the dishwashing soap area. I'd tell you the name but I just looked for it and I'm out of it right now, but I use it in my dishwasher and washing machine all the time. Makes em look brand new and my cloths are whiter.

you can use a product called ' kill - rust ' which works well , but i fear once the enamel has shown it's signs of deterioration , i fear the worst --- but hey someone may well have a contradictory view --- which is what we are all about !!!
