Why won't music play on my computer?

Question

Last week I deleted some things on my computer and I'm afraid that I may have deleted something that I needed to play music. Any ideas? It won't play on iTunes, MySpace, etc. THANKS!

Hi, have you tried other software like winamp. First of all, when your computer starts logging into Windows, does it have a welcome sound? If that's not available, it may mean you have deleted driver files for soundcard.

Try installing the driver files for soundcard again?

Did you delete or uninstall? If you simply deleted files, restore them from your waste basket. If you emptied your waste basket, you need to reinstall your software. If you were not too crazy about your software, then install one that you want to use or try. Start with WinAmp and take it from there. I use WinAmp as my default player, but I do use others from time to time as needed.

If reinstalling or installing the software does not work, then you may have deleted the drivers for your sound device. You would then need to go to your device manager under properties and look at the device. If there is a question mark on it, then that is where your problem is. Click on the device, then click on Properties and there should be a button that says reinstall driver or a similar button. Click it and follow the directions.

Don't get afraid just follow the tips......
1. right click the MYCOMPUTER
2. select the properties
3. select the device manager
4. have a look for the sound,vedio and controller
5. If sound driver is there then problem is other if not then reinstall the sound driver from ur motherboard cd.

try to re-install soundcard programs BUT b4 that reinstall any music player
