Mederma (scar treatment) works a little, but the best is Retin A and using sun screen everyday. The sun discolors the spots even more. You can get Mederma at drug stores over the counter. You must see you dermatologist for Retin A. I have had adult acne since the 90's and you never really get rid of every scar without surgery or professional laser tx. And some scars get better over time. I would advise against microdab...unless done by a professional. Acne can be made worse by accessive rubbing.

Effective Acne Scars Treatment:

The newest form of treatment is laser resurfacing, which can be done in the doctor or dermatologist's office. The laser removes the damaged top layer of skin and tightens the middle layer, leaving it smoother. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour and isn't painful because the doctor will first numb your skin with local anesthesia. It usually takes between 3 and 10 days for the skin to heal completely.

Another more traditional method for treating acne scarring is dermabrasion, which uses a rotating wire brush or spinning diamond instrument to wear down the surface of the skin. As the skin heals, a new, smoother layer replaces the abraded skin. It may take a bit longer for skin to heal using dermabrasion - usually between 10 days and 3 weeks.

Both of these types of treatments will cause skin to turn red, and this may last for several months. You can only have these treatments if you don't have an active case of acne at the time of treatment.

Well I think there are certain pills to take for acne, for example, I THINK erythromycin helps it. You can probably get this prescribed from your doctor. About the scars, have you tried the product Bio Oil? That was made specifically for scars and stretch marks etc. But most scars become less noticeable over time, so if you can make the acne go away, hopefully the scars will improve themselves.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Well, hon, there really isn't any way to eliminate them.
Even dermabrasion and heavy-duty peels can only improve them, not totally alleviate them. (Believe me, I have had both - expensive and very uncomfortable). If you don't have too many, you may get decent results with dermal fillers injected under the skin. Restylane, and your own fat harvested from your abdomen or thighs may provide long-lasting results. A series of microdermabrasions may help and as the years go by they will fade and shrink to a degree. I have finally accepted the fact that barring some new medical miracle on the horizon, I will always have some vestige of my teenage acne. I am not trying to be pessimistic, just realistic.

I don't think there is any possible way. There might be ointment to put on it to clear them but that's about it. Surgery is too painful, I don't blame you. But medication is okay and it's not like this is medication you take every day of your life. So medication is your best guess. Just for a week or so. It won't be that bad. Just give it a try. By the way, how bad are the scars?

Are they like this:

Daily exfoliation is a good way. Also try Proactiv. Not only does it get rid of acne, but it also helps with the scarring from it as well. Proactiv's also got a cleanser that exfoliates and a good moisturizer with it as well, so it is probably your best bet. The only thing is that it is pretty expensive. Wal-Mart carries a generic version if it called Acne Free, and I have been using it for about 2 years. It's only $17 as opposed to $50, which is what Proactiv costs, and it works just as well.

I would apply pure Vitamin E oil to the bad spots, and regular facials every two to three weeks for 4-5 months at a reputable spa, with emphasis on buffing and moisturizing. A good facial might run you anywhere from $85-$150, depending on your location and the level of service, but they are worth it. I had a vicious scar from a dog bite on my otherwise beautiful, greco-roman face, and six months of steady care has rendered what was a BAD scar nigh invisible except upon real, real close inspection. Also work lots of anti-oxidants, i.e, fruits and vegetables into your diet if you don't already. And lots and lots of H20. Good luck friend

Really to get rid of acne scars you can use cocoa butter because it evens your skins tone and it doesn't even matter if you had scars for 6 years it will get rid of the quick. And for future reference eat healthy like vegetables or something and use cleansers for your face before you go to bed.
