Well, aside from walking, I do have one thing that will work. Now hear me out on this one: Castor Oil. I know, some people don't think it works, but everyone I know that has tried it has gone into labor within about 24 hours. The reason is that it's a laxative, and once you have a bowel movement, it will start the muscles down there moving. My stepmother is a nurse, and she said that when she worked in labor and delivery, they would give the women enemas to get the process started. Now, if you're worried about the castor oil hurting your child (which it won't, I asked the doctor before I did it), the I guess you could get an over the counter enema. The castor oil works well because it doen't have any chemicals, and uit's usually a bit strong thansomething like milk of magnesia. Also, when you buy it, I would recommend a bottle of orange juice or something, because it tastes awful. Just thought I'd warn you. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Survey says:
There is no way to "jump start" your labor. When the baby is ready to deliver, there will be a release of prostaglandins and you will start to have contractions. You can stimulate this by taking long walks or having intercourse (there is prostaglandins in semen). Otherwise, just wait until you start to have contractions every 6-8 minutes at the level of your belly button.

I can tell you from experience, that my sister in law tried it all:
Castor Oil
Sex/Orgasims
Nipple Stimulation
Long Walks
Long Drives
Bumpy Rides on 4-wheelers
That Rose Hips thing (can remember the name)
NOTHING WORKED. She came when she was ready!
Sorry hun!

I took castor oil with both of my pregnancies and it started labor, but I was due at the time & could not stand to wait. That was along time ago tho.(over 20 yrs). They say to do alot of walking or riding in a car. I think it depends on the due date and all. Good look to you.

I was told to relax and it will come naturally.
Once I did that my contraction regulated and came regularly and I dilated. I was in the light labor for two day before.

I see no damage in calling the record now and asking about this. 36 weeks is close sufficient for your due date that you need to nicely be in complicated artwork. locate out for certain. each and every being pregnant is diverse. Why chance waiting until eventually Monday?

Have Indian food for dinner. Or prune an apple tree. Both of these things worked for me. Good luck.

Well they used to advise castor oil, and believe me it works (when the baby is due, only) However your Dr might not approve. Castor oil is a strong laxative; it really gets things going.
