Sometimes it isn't possible to avois facial acne, because some skin is predisposed to it. However, here are 2 tips to prevent or minimize acne:
1. clean skin : wash your face with a mild facial cleanser, and once a day use a facial cleansing pad (like OXY sells) to clean your face- these pads have alcohol, so don't use them more than once or twice a day or your skin may dry out. They also contain Salicylic Acid, which helps fight acne.
Remember to wash after exercising because sweat can clog your pores and make your acne worse. If you work around greasy food or oil or if you've been sweating from heat or because you've been working hard, wash your face and other acne-prone areas as soon as possible.
2. watch your diet : no more potato chips! greasy foods are not helpful when it comes to acne- try to eat as healthy as possible. Eating nutritious foods can help keep you healthy of course, and your skin will benefit from getting enough vitamins and minerals. But the bottom line is that you don't need to be obsessive about what you eat or how often you wash your face to control acne. If you don't find an over-the-counter product that works for you, talk to your doctor or a dermatologist for some advice on living through the acne years.

You can take following preventive measures against back acne:
Change pillows, bed sheets and towels regularly.
Wash your clothes with gentle or sensitive detergents or fabric softeners, as harsh detergents tend to irritate your skin.
Change over to hand-held bag in lieu of a backpack.
Wear loose clothing.
Exfoliate the skin while bathing or showering using a loofah.

Make sure you wash your face day & night to clear it of dirt, bacteria, oil, make-up ..etc. Also, try not to touch your face too much. The dirt and oil from your fingers can cause break-outs.
And the chocolate rumor is false. Eat up all the chocolate you want, it will not affect your skin.!
