There were actually three movies being planned, one focussed on Spike (which was the most well-known), but also one about Faith and one about Willow.

But Whedon and the studio apparently couldn't come to financial terms, so as of June the movies are no longer being planned.

In recent interviews Whedon and Amy Acker provide more information about the previously planned movies.

I suppose there is always a chance that the considerations can be renewed, but I don't think it is likely.

I don't think so because he is too busy doing other things. If anything he would want to do a sequel to serenity because apparently he loved working with the cast. I haev heard rumours of a spike spin off movie or series though. Although James masters may be getting too old now. I would just love him to bring out another programme, or another series of firefly. I think Buffy ran its course, but Angel was starting to get good again after a disastous season four and it would have been great if that had saw another series

I certainly hope so. Buffy/ Angel are old loves for me and after seeing Serenity I really would love to see him do a Buffy movie. Well a new one with the stars we know. Even if it was a spin off of a b-movie, it was a damn good spin-off!!

Hopefully he will if only to erase the memory of the original film. It has to be the worst effort I've ever seen. Loved Buffy & Angel. Would definetly go see the film if it was made.

Whozza whazza?

Ah, that guy! Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Buffy a spinoff of a B-rated movie in the 90's? Why would anyone want to make a spinoff from a spinoff?

I thought there was already a Buffy film? The series are both over. They should stay that way.
