it really depends on the location and for what size of family it is to be made. For one family of six living in the Philippines for example, the average would then be around 1000000 pesos or 19000 US dollars, that excludes the lot..

Hmm. I can't quite tell you everything, but I have a bit of a clue from watching Grand Designs (on channel 4 or more4 or something). A bloke built a 3or4 bed timber house, with the house itself costing £50k. But don't forget to factor in the cost of land, the cost and effort of getting planning permission etc, gettign connected to the electricity and water supply...
Overall I think you're looking at something like £80-90k for that house. I think it's significantly cheaper than buying a house, but it takes a hell of a lot of effort and you probably need to talk to someone with some knowledge of it (I think the company who supplied the wood for this house helped with the design).
If you want some more info on what its like to build a house, I suggest watching Grand Designs (although I'm not sure if they only do houses).

It depends on what you call 'a house'
For some poor down and out street folk a house could be just a cardboard box so really the answer could be nothing as you can pick up boxes that shops have thrown out but if you mean a normal house then lots and lots!

Totally depends on where you live. I was recently looking to build in Massachusetts. The land (small) was about $150,000, to $200,000. The house was another $250,000 - 300,000. For a 3 bedroom colonial. Good luck!

depends on the square footage of the house and in what part of the country you are building. maybe ask around with local contractors.
