Make sure you put some things for you in a bag as wel as for the baby. You should have stuf flike a change of clothes that you want to go home in, and an outfit for the baby. If you want to have pictures taken at the hospital, then make sure you have the outfit that you want the pictures in for your child. Also (I wish I had known this), when they take the picture of the baby, they lay them down on their back on a little table and have a camera above them. You can bring a little blanket or piece of fabric that they will lay down on that table as a background for your picture. So, if you have any special blanket or fabric that you would want as the background for those pictures, take that too.
The hospital will give you all the formula you need for the baby while you're there, and they'll send you home with enough for a day or 2. Also, they give you all the diapers you will need while you're there, and they also send you home with a pack.
So as long as you have all the supplies that you need at home, you don't have to worry about all that much for the trip home from the hospital.
Congratulations and good luck,

You shouldn't need to take a diaper bag to the hospital when you have the baby. They will send you home with diapers, wipes, and probably even some formula.
For when you get home with the newborn, I would have the following in the diaper bag at all times:
1. 8-10 Newborn Diapers
2. A pack of wipes
3. Changing Pad
4. Diaper Disposal Bags
5. 3 complete (and clean) outfits
6. 3 clean onesies
7. Diaper Rash Creme
8. Two Clean Bottles and nipples
9. Two bottles of water
10. A small can of formula.
11. One or Two clean blankets.
Congratulations.

Don't listen to much of what the books say, they will have you pack the whole house along with the kitchen sink! I packed too much. If you are having your baby at a hospital the will give you lots of diapers, wipes and formula if you are bottle feeding. They will also have little shirts and oneseys, but make sure you pack a going home outfit for the baby( May be one if you want pics taken in the hosp.)
As for you, a brush , little make-up ( for the guests that keep coming),toothbrush, deo, a pair of button up Pj's, slipper socks, undies,a book, and a going home outfit for you. If you are breast feeding some breast pads and cream. If you want certain sanitary pads bring those too, although they will have those there too!! Don't 4 get your phone numbers and insurance card and a camera. Remember what you bring there you gotta haul back and that sucks because you already have so much more to take home! Good luck don't worry to much about it, someone can always get it for you too!!!

I take sleepers for the baby, as the hospital can be cold. Also take an outfit to bring baby home in. A blanket from home is good too. If you want to give baby a pacifier bring the kind you prefer. The hospital will have some but they may not be what you like. The hospital will have diapers and wipes (though you need to have these at home) and bottles. You will still want a few nursing pads. Your milk will try to come in even if you are not breastfeeding. It will be painful for a few days.
Otherwise take clothes, hairbrush, toothbrush, deodrant, soap, pads (NO tampons!) for you.
Good luck!

In that bag should be everything YOU need for your own comfort. The hospital will provide everything (inclucing bottles for the baby). The baby will be a bit too small for anything but a "one-sie", a t-shirt that buttons under the diaper and a blanket.
Hey, you should re-consider breastfeeding, even if only for a few weeks or months. Lots of important antibodies in the first mother's milk and also something that helps the baby's brain growth. Plus it's good for YOU, helps the uterus return to normal after delivery.
Sounds like your first ! Enjoy! It's a very magical time.

Yep, the hospital will give you diapers, bottles, etc, even little newborn onsies. BUT, don't forget to have all this on-hand for when you get home. The last thing you'll want to do is to have to stop at a store with a 1 or 2 day old baby. Good luck!

The hospital will give you diapers and formula/bottles if you are not breastfeeding. But, you need to include an outfit for the baby for the ride home, a baby blanket, and a carseat. Once you are home, you'll need your own supply of newborn/size diapers, formula and a place for your baby to sleep.

The only thing you need to pack is something for the baby to get her pix taken in, and something to come home in. keep weather in mind. you may need undershirts, ect. one layer more than you would wear. Keep the rest of the bag empty because the hospital will give you diapers, wipes, formula, coupons, lots of samples, plus any gifts you get, you need somewhere to pack them away to bring them home.
Congratulations and good luck!!
God bless you and yours.

toothbrush, soap, deoretant, lotion, bra, comb, brush, sometimes you get right out of the hospital, and sometimes you stay a few days, take those things, and if you need something more then someone can bring it to you.
