As a social binding and cultural demand, it is true. One should not generalise by judging a single family. Indians do have respect for their elders. It is true for each spouse. The relations are not artificial. They are real wherever they occur which is their in most of the cases. Materialistic world have different ideas on that. No one should doubt the cultural and eternal bonding of the relations in Indian homes. Might be those who have migrated would have other views on the subject. But the fact remains that the respect for the elders in in-laws is existent.

no ..if left in particular case ( ther are justa few nice people )..neither indian woman owsm respect her inlaws neither indian male respect his inlaws.. indian woman due to family and social pressure try to show respect but it is fake and she turns into a ***** on the back.. indian male governed by his ego is not respectable to his inlaws he is jealous of their properity ...and much harsher if his inlaws are less economically developed he tends to so them his might by his money ....( if u compare indian males they are very selfish , self concerned about only their family ) its their ego which wanted to see them at top .. and thing hindring will let to ruth response.
