At work we all have to walk on egg shells because hes been fired before for attitude and insubbordination(i hope i spelled that correctly) and hge threatened the NAACP so they hired him back and hes worse cuz he knows were all affraid to say something.

SOME black people are referring to the government's promise of 40 acres and a mule to newly freed slaves, which they never got and they believe they should receive reparations or payment for such. Which is why many black people are angry with unfair hiring practices and salary differences, which sadly, still occur. The comment(s) he made is not because that individual is black, it's either because he is probably an angry person in general (angry ppl can be any color) or he perhaps (if no one else is asked to 'pick up a little extra slack'), wants to be treated, respected and talked to like everyone else in the workplace. I don't know the situation but it's definately NOT a 'black thing', I've worked all my life and never used my ethnicity as an excuse NOT to do something. The NAACP is for ALL ethnic groups, not just black people. My Caucasian husband and several coworkers are even members. FRIENDLY FYI: for the commenter who referred to her coworker as a 'gal' needs a bit of diversity training, that's derrogatory, it was used to give a sense of inferiority to black or African women who were slaves. If she was committing time clock fraud, your local NAACP should NOT have defended her and you should have called them out for doing so. Another FRIENDLY FYI: for the commenter who used the word 'colored' PLEASE use black or African American (either one), the word 'colored' went out over fifty years ago and pretty much only racists still use it. There is no such thing as a race card (If there is , I didn't get one). I don't believe in reparations because not ALL blacks were slaves and SOME blacks OWNED slaves, so it'd be too hard to find out who was who and what they were and owned.
The US is so beautifully diverse and if everyone chose to educate themselves and learn about ALL the ethnicities that make up this great country, it would be a MUCH better place and questions and topics like this would no longer exist.

good question, I'll be watching this one for answers. I worked with some like that too. One gal would even leave the work place without punching out and when caught called the NAACP to help her. And the union protected her like she was gold.
