Life is about choices, and we must adhere to the laws and customs for where we live. She knew the laws and yet she still had a child out of wedlock. That is forbidden in that area, and forbidden in that religion. That is not my religion, and I feel horrible for her, but she made the choice not to just conceive out of wedlock, but also to give birth out of wedlock.
The law states that she is not to be stoned if she were raped against her will or under other similar circumstances. She made the choice to break a law, and even though extremely harsh and cruel by the standards I live by, it is their custom and law to stone her. She should have thought of that when she chose to brake the law and custom of where she lived.
If the law was that my hand gets cut off if I steal, I would choose to not steal no matter how desperate I was. If I were to steal, I would be making the choice, knowing the consequences and I must accept those consequences. She had nine months to find a husband (to ensure the child was not born out of wedlock), and to figure out a way to not have to face stoning. Now that she knows the law is catching up with her, she is turning to others to rescue her.
I really DO feel horrible for her situation, and do not want to see her stoned to death, however she made that choice and she must accept the consequences of her choice.
It is the way her religion and her land works- she knew that when she became pregnant and had the child. Her choice, so she has to accept the consequences.

I prefer to live in the modern world, not something based on values and practices during the middle ages. They used to burn women for being witches(thousands) back then in Europe. Should we go back to those standards of that time? I think not.

yes i have, actually i completed a workshop in sharia in 1999. the sharia is not really bad way of handling things. think about it. if you steal your hand gets cut off, you get caught stealing again, your other hand get cut off. what you gonna steal with after that?
you take a life, you lose your life. i think thats fair, dont you?
